Pulse Express is a private student-run company at Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany. Founded in May 2005 and initially set out as a printing press to support the Pulse campus newspaper, it has grown extensively ever since. Pulse Express now employs more than 15 Jacobs University students and alumni and constantly engages in further extensions of its quality services geared primarily at the Jacobs community.
The whole idea of a student-run printing press for then-IUB began over some bottles of wine between the President and Vice-President and four editors of the Pulse, IUB’s news publisher. From there it grew steadily over a half-year of planning, ordering, bartering and many sleepless nights into the reality we are now so happy to be able to offer to IUB and beyond.
The original printing press company continues to exist as Pulse Copy Services to provide the Jacobs University administration and faculty with printing, binding, mailing and other office solutions. Pulse Express, on the other hand, is an entirely student-dedicated grocery and convenience store open seven days a week... at very odd hours!
